Description
Professor Bournoutian, whose training and linguistic dexterity equip him with special competence to investigate this period, has focused his attention on the details of Perso-Armenian relations from the establishment of the Qajar dynasty in 1795 to its defeat by the Russians and its loss of control over Armenia in 1828. His work is particularly valuable because Soviet writings have done much to obscure the nature of the relationship between the two countries and Persian historians have generally neglected Armenia since it became part of the Russian empire.
